Ultrasonic Technology
The Naftoserwis UT tool incorporates an ultra-sonic (UT) module that deploys detecting sensors in the axial, radial, and circumferential pipe axes. It deploys a technology based on the Physiscs of generated sonic waves which crash against the pipe wall, returning to the recorder in a way which differs according to the thickess of the 'obstacle'.
Thickness is reduced by oxydating effects and corrosion, which consume the original layer of the pipe wall. The UT tool series may be run as a stand-alone high-resolution UT survey or in combination with a caliper pig.
